Thanks to all the members and guests who joined us for the 2026 Randolph Mayor’s Message on January 7th. Our new Mayor, Mark Forstenhausler, made an excellent presentation about Randolph’s progress in 2025 and plans for 2026.
We also heard from Randolph Council members Chris Carey, Deputy Mayor Lou Nisivoccia, Helene Elbaum and Joe Hathaway, who is running for Congress.
Mayor Mark announced that Travis Ruffo will be joining the 2026 Randolph Township Council slate as Helene Elbaum will not be running for re-election. It was a pleasure to meet Travis and we look forward to his election in November.
Highlights from the Mayor’s address included :
1. The saving of $1.1 million in cost avoidance and by obtaining external grants;
2. The reduction in additional required affordable housing units from 355 to 28, which will avoid overdevelopment.
3. The opening of Tesla on Route 10 and numerous other businesses in 2025;
4. Plans to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution;
5. Plans to conduct an energy audit for all municipal buildings.
We concluded the meeting in good cheer and look forward to the February 4th meeting which will feature Joe Hathaway as our main speaker. For more information about our programs please email Bill at menzel10@aol.com or call 973.945.8507. Thanks for your support and God bless us, everyone
